Tom Smithback President

Tom Smithback is the President of Electric Supply, joining the company as an electrician in 1978. In that time,

he has had the pleasure of watching the company flourish within the Sioux Falls community. Smithback believes in the importance of contributing to the community, and serves as a board member for First Tee, as well as the Sanford Health Foundation. Being a man close to his faith, he also serves as a council member for his church. In his free-time, Smithback enjoys spending time with his family, horseback riding, archery and playing the guitar.

Bob Jarding Vice President

Bob joined Electric Supply as an apprentice electrician in 1984, and through the work of time and determination,

progressed to the role of Vice President of the company. Jarding exemplifies this steadfast attitude to all facets of his life, most noticeably in his dedication to his family and his stewardship in his faith community. He is active in his role as President of the Dakotas Chapter NECA, as well as serving as a trustee of the Dakotas Area-Wide Apprenticeship Training Trust, a board member of the AGC of South Dakota, a Holy Spirit Church Council Member, and a board member of the Southeast Technical Institute Foundation. In his free-time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with this wife and four daughters.

Jordan Smithback

Jordan Smithback Treasurer

The son of Tom, Jordan grew up around the company, being able to help out at the shop and wash company vehicles

along with countless hours of sorting parts that came back from job sites. Jordan earned his bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from South Dakota State University with an emphasis in design, project management, estimating, controls and marketing. He joined ESC in 2002 as a summer helper and continued working since as a summer helper to apprentice electrician to Journeyman Electrician. He is an active member of NECA. Jordan has worked on a variety of unique projects including Midco head ends, data centers, digital lighting control upgrades, data center service change out and upgrades, and production suites and video production rooms. In his free-time, Jordan enjoys spending time with his wife and three children while keeping busy working on home projects, archery and golf.

Matt Jarding Secretary

Matt joined Electric Supply in 2007 as an Estimator and Project Manager. In addition to these roles, he also oversees

Purchasing and Workforce Development. He graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Construction Management with an emphasis in project management, estimating, and workforce development. Matt is an active member of NECA, as well as the Local Union 426 Apprenticeship Training Committee. Some unique projects that Matt has worked on include Sanford Children’s Hospital, Sanford Heart & Vascular Hospital, and Sanford Imagenetics. In his free-time he enjoys spending time with wife and two kids while enjoying outdoor activities and watching football (especially Notre Dame).

Jen started with Electric Supply in Feb 2017 as our Office Manager and leader of our Accounting team.

She comes to us with a proven history in the collision industry. She lives in Lennox, SD with her fiancé Nick and three children. They all share a love for animals, so they round out their full house with two dogs, one cat and a hamster. Depending on the time of year, you will find Jen and her family outdoors as much as possible until Football season begins. You will then find her in the kitchen getting snacks ready for cheering on her Minnesota Vikings!
